Spanline History
Spanline Australia was formed in 1985 following the creation and development of the
Spanline Home Additions Building System. Spanline Australia provides support, management
and solutions through its range of staff and professional services to the Spanline
Franchise Group encompassing 36 franchises.
Spanline Australia pioneered the production of a fully engineered, all steel roll formed
patio roofing product and today that same unique product forms the integral part of the
Spanline Home Additions Building System.
Ongoing development has led to the production of associated roll forming machines, which
in addition to the roofing product now produce beams, gutters and back channel.
These state of the art machines are all owned and operated by Spanline Home Additions Franchises
allowing for improved sales, manageable stock levels and controlled production.
In 1993, Spanline moved towards full system franchising and since then has developed
sophisticated franchise systems, codes, procedures and practices that allow for a
more proactive and rewarding business. The Spanline National brand image has strengthened
as a result of national marketing and customer service commitments, along with full
franchise system performance standards.
Spanline has pioneered many innovations within the patio industry, from product through
to marketing, service and building standards. The move to franchising has allowed Spanline
to become a well known national brand name.
In 1999, Spanline began the operation of its National Buying Office (Franchise Alliance),
which not only secures the benefits of buying products nationally, but also ensures other
business essentials, such as insurance, leases, finance and technology.
Today, Spanline Franchisees number 36 and are located in virtually every capital city
and major regional centre around Australia. There are more than 2400 owners, employees,
sub contractors, casual and part time personnel associated with the Spanline Franchise
System. It is the largest home additions Franchise System in Australia's and is the home
additions market leader. Spanline completes more than 6000 home additions projects each year.
